This policy explains what Taskly collects, why, and what you can do about it. Written in plain English. If something here is unclear, text us at (650) 223-5975 and a real human will explain.
Who we are
Taskly is an iOS app that helps people with ADHD plan their day, run focus timers, and stay organized. The app is developed and operated by Crystal Botham (”we,” “us,” “Taskly”). You can reach us by text at (650) 223-5975.
What we collect
Only what’s needed to run the app. We do not sell your data, ever.
When you create an account:
- Email address (used to sign you in and tie your subscription to your account)
- Password (only if you sign up with email rather than Apple or Google; it is sent securely to our authentication provider, Supabase, which stores it hashed; Taskly never stores or sees your raw password)
- A user ID that identifies your account
- Whether your account has an active Pro subscription (Apple processes all payments; we never see your payment details)
- We do not collect your name. Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in are configured to share only your email address with us.
- When you use the app (synced to your account):
- Tasks you create (title, time, duration, completion state, repeat settings, and subtasks)
- Focus session history (duration, when it finished, and the label you gave it)
- App settings (theme color, appearance, and feature toggles)
- This content is backed up to your account so it can be restored if you reinstall the app or get a new phone. It lives in our database (hosted by Supabase), is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is protected so that only your signed-in account can read it.
When you use voice dictation (the microphone button when adding a task):
- Taskly uses Apple’s built-in Speech Recognition framework to convert what you say into text. Depending on your iOS version, language, and device, transcription may happen on your device or be sent to Apple’s servers for processing. Apple’s own privacy policy explains how they handle audio: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy
- Taskly itself never records, stores, or has access to your raw audio. Only the resulting text ever reaches our app, and we treat it exactly like text you typed by hand.
